“Natalie Beabella has its roots in Argentina but lives since a couple of years ago in Sweden. Their debut album in two languages, spanish and english “No te doy más!”, recorded in Buenos Aires and Stockholm, is a pleasant experience, with songs filled with strength and flow, breathing warmth and optimism. She moves unrestricted between many genres, from jazz and bossa nova through klezmer and a half bluesy-reggae song, chanson and folk music without any of this feeling forced. The album could have been a fragmented and mediocre product, but Beabella and the musicians evade this trap. Despite the different genres, the album is impressive and very original. They will be performing this Wednesday night at Bistro Hijazz, Uppsala. Best track: Cartonero “-Stefan Warnqvist
In english:
“LATIN MIX. Singer, guitarist and songwriter Natalie Beabella does not limit herself when it comes to getting into different musical styles. Almost as many styles as songs are reunited in the debut album “No te doy más!”. Tango, cumbia, pop and more, even sometimes with a touch of jazz. Beabella moved to Sweden at the beginning of the decade and has since then worked with many artists. There are about 20 musicians collaborating in this album , including violinist Santiago Jimenez and flautist Magnus Lindgren. The first song brings a scent of tango with it’s bandoneon and romantic violin, Only the stars is a beautiful ballad with a soft piano and a vibrant double bass Out in the atmosphere sung in English and spanish is pleasantly lazy”
